No. All parts are precisely laser-cut and simply snap together. Everything you need is included in the box—for particularly delicate parts, we recommend our optional MagicHolz .

Depending on the model, between 30 minutes and 10+ hours. On each product page, you'll find the assembly time and difficulty level, ranging from Level 1 (beginner) to Level 5 (expert). Small models are perfect for a relaxing evening, while large kits are projects that can take several weekends to complete.

Most models are recommended for ages 12 or 14 and up, while starter sets are available for ages 6 and up—it’s best to build them together. The recommended age is listed for each product, and you can find suitable models in seconds using the “Recommended Age” filter.

A 3D puzzle becomes a model for display—a mechanical kit that moves: gears mesh together, a spring mechanism drives the wheels, and some models even play music. You’ll find both types in this category; use the “Mechanical Functions” filter to view only the moving models.

Finding the right level of difficulty

If the puzzle is too difficult for you, you may lose interest in it and give up in frustration at some point. If it is too easy, you may not feel sufficiently challenged, which means you won't enjoy the hobby.

This makes it all the more important to find a three-dimensional puzzle with the right level of difficulty. But that's not so easy. After all, it depends on many different factors. One of the most important is age.

3D puzzles are suitable for children. If you are planning to buy a model for your offspring, be sure to check the age specifications. However, there are also big differences in the complexity of 3D puzzles for adults.

As a general rule, you can assume that the puzzle tends to become more difficult the more pieces it has. The construction time stated by the manufacturer also gives an indication of the level of difficulty.

If you are a complete beginner and have no experience with 3D puzzles, it is best to start with a model with 100 to 200 pieces that takes around three to four hours to build.
