Frequently Asked Questions
Is this something for me, even if I'm not a DIYer?
With 148 pieces, this set is one of the smaller Book Nooks and is rated Level 3 out of 5. The pieces are pre-cut and already colored, so you don't have to paint anything. You'll be done in two to five hours.
Do I need glue or tools?
You don't need glue. The parts are laser-cut and snap together; we even include tape. If you'd rather use proper tools to separate the parts, our tool kit is available separately as an accessory.
How big will it be when it's finished?
When assembled, it measures about 11 x 20 x 26 cm. In photos, scenes like this often look bigger, but it actually fits between your books on a standard bookshelf shelf. Just check beforehand to make sure there’s 26 cm of space on your shelf.
Do I need batteries for the light?
Yes, you'll need two AA batteries for the warm LED light; they're not included in the set. You can turn it on with a tap of your finger using the touch switch. Have the batteries ready before you start setting it up.
What are the benefits of dust protection?
The set includes a dust cover that covers the finished scene. This prevents dust from settling in all the little nooks and crannies, so you won't have to touch it up with a brush later.
Does this have anything to do with arcades?
The name is a bit misleading. It refers to Parisian arcades—that is, covered shopping passages—not an arcade (as in a game center). You’ll build a delicate glass roof featuring small cafés, bookstores, and wrought-iron decorations.
Structure, Lighting, and Impact
Sunlight falls through a filigree glass roof, casting a warm glow over the small cafés, bookshops and wrought-iron decorations. You can hear the soft clinking of cups and feel the peace and quiet between the old arcades. Every glance into this small world tells stories of elegance, nostalgia and deceleration. "Arcade Dating" is more than a kit - it is a place where you arrive. With every move you make, a piece of Paris grows between your books. For everyone who longs for a moment for themselves - or for a gift that lasts.
