We rate this carousel as Level 4 for craft enthusiasts, so it’s not a beginner’s model. The 384 pieces come together to form a clockwork mechanism with gears, so precision is more important than speed. Illustrated instructions in German, English, French, and other languages are included, along with an assembly video. Plan on spending 2 to 5 hours on this project.
What happens when the carousel is finished?
You wind it up, and then it spins while playing a melody. The horses inside run in the opposite direction of the outer stage. The whole thing is powered by winding springs and gear trains.
Do I need glue or tools?
Glue is not included with the kit; the parts are designed to snap together. For a model with gears, it helps if you can smooth out the edges neatly—we offer a model-building tool set in our accessories section for this purpose. We also sell the Magic Craft Glue separately, in case you want to reinforce a joint.
How big will the carousel be?
When assembled, it measures 17 x 17 x 24 cm, so it’s 24 cm tall. That’s often too tall for a closed shelf compartment, but it stands on its own on a dresser, a sideboard, or a table. To allow the stage to rotate, there should be some space around it.
What should I do if a part breaks?
For particularly critical parts, replacement parts are already included on the assembly plates. If yours isn't listed, please contact us via our contact form or the HelpCenter, specifying the model and part number. You'll receive the replacement free of charge.
Who is the carousel a gift for?
