Even though the model kit looks like a floor model at first glance, behind it is a sophisticated mechanical model that has been modelled on a real butterfly - so of course the cute creature is also able to flap its wings realistically.

Realistic wing beat - completely without batteries or similar power sources

The Ugears butterfly is assembled in several small blocks that are then joined together. Once the model is fully assembled, you can easily set the animal's fine wings, which are made of robust kraft paper, in motion by pressing a small lever: This has been integrated into the rear pair of legs of the butterfly and can start the built-in rubber band motor if desired.

You don't need batteries or similar external power sources to set the butterfly's wings in motion - this is done completely mechanically. Since the butterfly is equipped with a stand, it can be set into gentle oscillations even without operating the lever, which makes its simulated approach to a flower even more effective.

The model also comes with two different pairs of wings: A plainer version that you can paint according to your individual preferences and a colourful pair that turns the butterfly into a guaranteed eye-catcher.
