The Ugears Truck Heavy Boy VM-03 model kit is indeed a "heavy boy": It is a faithful replica of a real US truck with a driver's cab, which in real life weighs quite a few tonnes. The much smaller model is a flyweight in comparison, but nevertheless proves to be an imposing sight on the collector's shelf.

The model, which consists of 541 individual parts, was designed with great attention to detail and therefore also features almost all the distinctive equipment elements of a real truck: for example, two mirrors are attached to the sides of the driver's cab and you can discover two exhaust pipes on the rear of the vehicle.

Of course, the two doors of the driver's cab can be opened and a small ladder has even been mounted on the cab to make it easier for the driver to get in. The coupling system, which connects the tractor to the attached trailer, is definitely worth a look.

Furthermore, the Heavy Boy Truck VM03 offers some more lovely details, such as a cosy sleeping place for the driver (including a built-in TV) and a shovel attached to the rear of the truck.

Mechanical rubber band motor sets the truck in motion

The Ugears Heavy Boy Truck VM-03 is not a wooden model in the classic sense: the stately truck is equipped with a mechanical interior that provides additional fun after assembly.

This is a rubber band motor that is used entirely without external power sources to wind up the truck and offers three modes: Forward, reverse and idle. One wind-up is enough to drive the truck a proud five metres - with the help of the movable steering wheel, you can even determine the direction of travel.

When idling, on the other hand, you can watch the sophisticated movement devices at work without the truck actually moving.

Precise individual parts made from sustainably grown wood

Like all wooden models from Ugears, the Heavy Boy Truck is made from high-quality plywood, which is sustainably grown wood from the forests of Europe.

Thanks to a special laser process, all the individual parts included are cut out precisely so that they fit together perfectly when assembled.

By the way, separate tools or glue are not required here, which makes the kit ideal for inexperienced beginners in the field of model building.
