Frequently Asked Questions
How does the drive work?
An electric motor powers a spiral lift that carries the balls upward. From there, they travel back down through several track levels and loops. The power comes from 4 AA batteries (not included), with no cables or app required.
Do I need any prior knowledge?
The track is rated Level 4 out of 5 (Tricky). Some experience with model building helps, because the spiral lift has to run smoothly in the end. A steady hand and patience are more important than prior knowledge; you'll be working with precise plug-in connections without glue.
How many tracks and loops are there?
Several parallel track levels featuring curves and a central loop. Once the ride is in motion, an average of 4 to 6 balls are in motion at the same time.
Do I need glue or tools?
You don't need glue—all 558 pieces are precisely laser-cut and simply snap together. If you like, you can secure individual connections for added stability. Handy tips for building: Use a utility knife and a file to cleanly remove the pieces and smooth out tight spots; use the small hammer to gently tap the snap connections into place so everything fits securely. All three tools are included in our tool set.
How long does the assembly take?
It takes about 5 to 9 hours to build. After that, the train runs at its own hypnotic pace as long as the batteries last.
What if a part breaks or is missing?
That's where our free replacement parts service comes in: Just tell us which part you need, and we'll send it to you as soon as possible. Our support team is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and responds in about 30 minutes on average.
Function & Mechanics in Detail
A marble run that you build yourself and can enjoy for years to come.
The Spiral Marble Run is a small wooden perpetual motion machine: an electric spiral lift raises the marbles to the top, from where they roll back down through a stepped maze of three tracks. Once the track is in motion, it takes on its own hypnotic rhythm.
558 laser-cut parts, 5 to 9 hours of assembly time, precise snap-fit connections without glue. From real reviews: "I couldn't stop building it. The design is technically impressive."
