Can I set it up without any experience?
The set is rated Level 3 out of 5 and can be built even without much modeling experience. The 204 pieces are manageable, and the illustrated instructions guide you step by step. Plan on spending about five to nine hours on it, ideally spread out over several evenings.
What else do I need to get?
Glue and batteries are not included in the set. You'll need batteries for the lights and regular craft glue or white glue for the small parts. It's also handy to have some small tools, which you can get with the Starter Kit version.
How big is it, and will it fit on the shelf?
When assembled, it measures about 11 x 18 x 24 cm, so the longest side is 24 cm. It’s designed to sit between your books and serve as a bookend at the same time. In photos, scenes like this usually look bigger than they actually are.
Who would this make a good gift for?
It's recommended for ages 12 and up. It's a good fit for people who are interested in astronomy and enjoy working with their hands—perhaps as a birthday or Christmas gift. Those who don't like crafts won't get much out of it.
What is the difference between the two versions?
The Starter Kit version includes the same kit plus our tool kit, which contains a file, ruler, mini hammer, utility knife, and stainless steel gluing tips. This really makes a difference, especially when working on fine details. If you already have these tools, the standard version will suffice.
What if I get stuck while setting it up?
Along with the illustrated instructions, there's an assembly video where you can follow along with each step. If you're still having trouble, please contact our team in Berlin. And if the set doesn't fit after all, you have a 100-day return policy.
