In a nutshell

Why did you build a lighthouse of all things?
Because, to us, a lighthouse is more than just a motif. It symbolizes guidance—the light that remains when darkness falls. And that’s exactly what we want MagicHolz to be. When we designed our very first model, it quickly became clear: it had to be a lighthouse.
Does the lighthouse really work as a night light?
Yes. The warm light is soothing without being too bright. With a single tap, you can switch between warm, cool, and mixed light and adjust the brightness continuously. For continuous use on your nightstand, connect the lighthouse to a power adapter via USB-C—then you won’t need any batteries. And the best part: you built it yourself.
Does the lantern really spin without a motor?
Yes. You turn the crank, the visible gear mechanism transmits the motion, and the lantern rotates. There’s no motor inside—your hand powers the light. The lantern can be powered either by 3 AAA batteries (not included) or continuously via the USB-C port.
All Questions

Build your own beechwood lighthouse with a lantern that rotates via a hand crank. You can adjust the light level continuously; it runs on batteries or can be plugged in via USB-C for continuous use as a nightlight.

✓ With illustrated instructions, a video, and personalized support, “Can I do this?” turns into “I did it!”

Function & Mechanics in Detail

Do you remember what it feels like to make something with your hands? Not typing. Not swiping. But actually building something—and ending up with something in your hands that wasn't there before.

The Luminous Lighthouse is made exactly for that. Not just to sit around somewhere. But to be built, to shine, to spin—and to remind you every evening afterward: I made that.

Why a lighthouse? Because a lighthouse isn't just any model. It stands for guidance. For the light that remains when it gets dark. For something steadfast in a world that never stops buzzing.

Unwind. Recharge. For moments that last.

Why you will love this product 💛

  • 🔄 It really spins —turn the crank, and the lantern rotates. Mechanical, with visible gears—no motor. Your hand powers the light.
  • 💡 Tap, switch modes, dim —warm, cool, or a mix, with continuous adjustment. Use it as a nightlight, a reading lamp, or simply to set the mood on a shelf.
  • 🔌 With a USB-C port —in addition to batteries, the light can also be powered continuously via a cable. This way, the lighthouse is ready to serve as a nightlight every evening, without ever having to change the batteries.
  • 🧭 Down to the last detail —a compass rose on the base, laser-cut beech wood, designed and manufactured in the EU. Not just another catalog item, but a model with character.
  • 🔦 More than just a kit —the instructions explain Fresnel lenses, light characteristics, and the life of a lighthouse keeper. You don't just build—you understand what you're building.
  • 🙌 Not bought, but built —that’s the difference you see every evening.
  • 🎁 For yourself or your loved ones —treat yourself to this evening, or make it the best gift for someone you want to make happy.

Whoever builds it will realize afterward: Some lights you have to make yourself. 💛

Power supply: 3 × AAA batteries (not included) or continuous power via USB-C cable
