From the upper left edge of the image, a Scarlet Macaw looks down to the lower right. With curved beak, white-rimmed eyes, red-feathered head and wing base, yellow-feathered wing center, blue-feathered wing tips, and blue-red tail, this parrot is unmistakable. In a diagonal row running down to the right, two of its conspecifics sit with it on a branch. Outside the breeding season, the birds unite into larger flocks and socialize with each other. In the front part of the picture, the parrots are surrounded by greenery, small butterflies and yellow, white and purple flowers. In the back of the picture, three scarlet macaws are flying over a ravine. In addition, a rock can be seen behind the ravine. From the rock face, a waterfall c ascades down.
