Frequently Asked Questions
Does the cyberhand really move with my fingers?
Yes. You put your fingers inside, and the hand grips and opens with every movement. You're the one powering it—there's no motor inside.
What are the benefits of the exposed mechanism?
All the gears and levers are exposed. As you build it and afterward, you can see exactly how each movement works and understand the mechanics step by step.
How big will the finished hand be?
When assembled, it measures 20 x 46 x 12 cm (width x height x depth) and consists of 448 laser-cut plywood pieces. This makes it significantly larger than a real hand, and it immediately stands out on the shelf.
Can I do this even without any experience?
The Cyberhand is a Level 5 (Masterpiece) set with 448 pieces and takes 5 to 9 hours to build. You don't need an engineering degree, but you will need patience and steady hands. The illustrated instructions guide you step by step.
In which languages are the instructions available?
The illustrated instructions are included in German and English. There is also a short video showing the Cyberhand in action.
What if a part is missing or breaks?
Our spare parts service is free: Just tell us which part you need, and we'll send it to you as soon as possible. Support is available weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an average response time of about 30 minutes. Shipped from Berlin · Free shipping on orders of €35 or more.
Function & Mechanics in Detail
One glance is enough—and your imagination runs wild.
The Cyber Hand is a mechanical wooden kit that immediately fascinates. Piece by piece, an exposed mechanism emerges, allowing you to see and understand every movement. As you build, you become calmer, more focused, completely at one with yourself.
And then the moment arrives: you put your fingers inside—and the hand moves with you. It grasps. It opens. It lives.
A project to be proud of. And a design you won't forget.
