Developing its fascinating new Mechanical Town series, Ugears presents another addition to the collection: the rail-mounted slewing crane.

Set up in the Mechanical Town dock not far from the robot factory, the rail-mounted slewing crane is a purely utilitarian model that is by no means less entertaining than the other models in the series. Like the rest of Ugears' models, the rail-mounted slewing crane is designed to keep the fun going even after assembly. With a range of extras included in the box, the model guarantees hours of exciting new pastimes.

Speaking of extras: With the rail-mounted slewing crane itself, you also get two pieces of track, the shed under construction, two transport boxes with doors, crane, goods wagon and five figures.

Design and technology
The rail-mounted slewing crane is a mechanical claw with three levers that sits on a platform on the rails. The rails can be connected in parallel or in a line. Completing the settings is a shed under construction made of huge trusses that came straight out of the industrial age, with one of the figures, a roofer with a hammer, sitting on a beam of the shed. The worker holding signal flags assists the operator of the rail-mounted slewing crane in controlling the process, while the worker with a shovel and the worker with a spanner mind their own business in the harbour.

The model also includes one of the most important pieces of equipment on the docks, the crane. It can be disassembled and reassembled almost with a flick of the wrist. With the additional mechanisms, the rotation and angle of the crane can also be locked with a load.

And an important addition to the setting is the cargo trolley with drop sides. Simply load and unload your freight boxes together with the dismantled crane and take them to a new destination.

All parts of the set are made of high-quality plywood and require no additional materials or tools for assembly.

How does it all work?
The claw itself sits on a platform that can turn manually or via a valve. In the front part of the model is the driver's cabin, which is equipped with a protective cover and an adjustable headlight. Turning the cabin counterclockwise switches the operating modes of the rail-mounted slewing crane:

initial position (driving mode) - the claw's rotating platform is locked, the model moves on the track;
90-degree rotation (free mode) - the rotating platform is unlocked;
180-degree rotation (loading mode) - the models' wheels are locked together with the gear in the front axle, which is connected to the ledge on the rails.
On the back of the model is the lever that controls the raising, lowering and holding of the four footrests, which provide additional stability when operating the claw.

With its articulated claw, the Ugears rail-mounted slewing crane can load and move the freight boxes in the trolley with extraordinary accuracy - up to 1 cm. Based on the original prototypes, the rail-mounted slewing crane teaches you the operational and design features of the real machines, such as cranes, excavators, robotic arms, etc., their mechanics and functionality.

All in all, the rail-mounted slewing crane has a great capacity both as an assembly model that is exciting to put together and as a great playmate due to its diverse functionality.
